Re: Online with description on my news page.
New version, this one needs pgn-extract-17-14.exe or pgn-extract-17-19.exe. You can enter by player too, to get all data of all engines that start at S, use S*, could be Senpai, Stockfish, Smarthink, Spark.

Re: Online with description on my news page.
Hi Ferdinand,
I tried your last version..at the moment i can only let it works with using Full name off a engine..so just using K or Komodo is not enough and doesn't work for me..
I tried first with player name K
Then Komodo
gives me 0 games..when using full name then i get data output!
PNGS v2.4 (Player number of games summary)
Enter pgn filename? i3M380.pgn
Enter minimum moves? 20
Enter maximum moves? 50
Enter player names option (all, indi)? indi
1. Enter player name (stop to exit)? Komodo
2. Enter player name (stop to exit)? stop
Enter game end results (all, mate, mate_and_draw)? all
Filtering player names ...
Creating player data ...
Total filtered games: 0
output: i3M380_player_numgames_summary.txt
time: 1.25s
Done!!
press enter key to exit

Use K* to extract all engines that start in letter K, S* to get Stockfish, Senpai, Spark for example.jpqy wrote:Hi Ferdinand,

Re: Online with description on my news page.
Yes..now it works perfect
I need to use K* in place off k*
So i have Stockfishes who are named with : stockfish or Stockfish or starting with SF or sf
Then i can't get them together in one time?!
Is this a challenge or i asking too much or you just like it and want more
It's already great..is to see how far you want or can go with your tool..
Best regards,
JP.

Re: Small mistake and an other criteria for output file
Hi Ferdinand,
I added some infos in my News 158.
I think you have a small error in your new version.
If I start version 2.4
- move 20-49
- won games only
If I am looking in your statistic output file ... I missed for selection C and D
the first three places. Summary started with place 4:
Selection C and D
Have a look here ...
All is wonderful again but one wish I have here ...
Summary in selection "B" should be sorted with other criteria.
Have a look in my News 158 ... and the Spark 1.0 x64 results.
With such stats Spark should be under the TOP-10 with won / lost games and move number 30-49!
Easy I think ...
Engine with most "all wins in %" should be on the first position in summary in selection "B". So it's more easy to see here most important information for people which like opening book analyzes (very important for myself).
Best
Frank
PS: I like it so much ... a dream for myself what you do here!
Sorry for my late answer: Can't work on my page (webhosting Company is working on FTP Server), and a lot of private work these days. Hope up to end of this week only, means my private work.

This is indeed a bug. It is the starting rank number, engine is fine. This is will be fixed in V3.0, to be released just a couple of hours from now.Frank Quisinsky wrote:Hi Ferdinand,

Re: Small mistake and an other criteria for output file
Hi Ferdinand,
only that won / lost games sorted sorted with ...
I am thought about it today in the morning, yes!
But at the moment I don't have for your two new tools addiontal ideas.
How I added it in Excel ... means output in *.txt ... thought about it but I found very fast the solution with Notepad++ editor.
---
Maybe this one ...
But I can do it with your tool if I start it more times.
Interesting is to know for engine engine games ...
Example:
1. Stockfish 6 BMI2 x64 ...
Draw games ...
Move number 20-25
Move number 26-30
Move number 31-35
Move number 36-40
Move number 41-50
Move number 51-60
Move number 61-70
Move number 71-80
Move number 81-90
Move number 91-100
Move number 101-120
Move number 121-160
Move number 161-300
How many draws ... and after this on in %
1.000 games played ...
Move number 20-25 = 20 games = 2.0%
Move number 26-30 = 30 games = 3.0%
Move number 31-35 = 35 games = 3.5%
and so one ...
More easy to compare the complete results with others.
Also interesting to compare two versions from the same engine!
Contemp seems to be very important and I can't see it directly if programmers working with it (without contemp setting in UCI file or not).
Yesterday I made such stats with engines often or rarely play draw in different playing phases or comes with draws stats other don't have ... Quazar, SmarThink for examples. Very interesting why These programs have here others stats.
The one and only problem with all these stats is ...
late middlegame / transposition into endgame.
Means ...
Where started the late middlegame and where started the transposition into endgame. A combination with move length and pieces on board can give the results I like. You have programmed here a script too. I think I must work a bit with your tools and later in combination with all stats I can create we should try to solved this problem with eng-eng databases. Means I must produced more results with different engines to find out the optimal combination between move length and pieces on board.
Main problem, really!
In this playing phase the most games are 1-0 and 0-1 ...
And here we need clearly better ideas for stats to find out more. Very tricky.
Best
