I was wondering if someone could give me a brief overview on the different alternatives of mass storage. I hope this is not too much off-topic as the issue also relates to table base storage.
Basically (at work) we are looking for a system that can store 10 Terabyte. Price is somewhat important, as is accessibility from a network (needing 100s' of DVDs is not an option). Reliability is a must, but speed is not that important.
Thanks a lot for any input you can provide.
Regards,
Yolin

I am sure you will get lots of answers. We have this discussion at my workplace about a year ago and we ended up deciding on http://www.apple.com/xserve/raid/
This solution works for windows, and linux as well.
I would assume if you have such a large storage requirement, you cannot do without RAID.
