Yes I can understand the point you raise. I don't know why either, they never read bug reports or feedback from customers :) Besides it seems they don't give a damn about engine and tournaments. They are mostly interested in improving playchess and database features.

July and August are turning out to be a very good time of year for me. As I now have my new Quad over here just waiting for Chessbase 10, Aquarium, and Deep Rybka 3 to arrive! 8-)

Your right that is and option. It sounds like a very good one at that ...

Thanks for the IDeA!

Thats what I will do.
Hmmm : be cautious :

So far nobody knows wether chessbase offer includes 64bits rybka3...

Marc
The Chessbase artical states at the foot that both versions are included.
Chessbase wrote:Note that Rybka 3 includes a database of one million games, and that the purchase of the program entitles you to one year of access to the chess server Playchess.com. Rybka 3 is a UCI engine, with 32 and 64-bit versions included in the package. Rybka can be made the default engine in ChessBase 10.

So, why didn't they do it before? When they did not have a GUI?
I do not understand how you can know that their GUI is buggy when they still did not release it.

If there are bugs in the beta version of Aquarium it does not mean that the bugs are not going to be fixed when the Aquarium interface is released.

Let me demonstrate it on an example Uri. When a cat is pregnant and is going to have kitten, you expect them to have four legs. You haven't seen the kitten yet, but you already expect something. It is how we acquire all our knowledge about outside world-by observing and generalizing.

When you bite a piece of peach, you expect it to taste like peach, and not like an apple. It's not because you have evidence about how that particular peach tastes (you haven't eaten THAT peach before). You cannot logically prove that the peach shall necessarily taste like other peaches, because there is no logical necessity in that. However, you ASSUME that peach tastes like peach, and not apples. Hope you don't want to argue on why induction works at all.

I have never observed a first version of any software product to be bug-free; then, we all have observed that Rybka engine had numerous bugs, i.e. the authors are not Gods but humans. Thus, with a high degree of certainty you can expect a buggy software.

If there are bugs in the beta version of Aquarium it does not mean that the bugs are not going to be fixed when the Aquarium interface is released.
How many BUG-FREE software do you know Uri!? I'm just curious.

Heh, I feel honored for being suspected on making these logos, but no, it wasn't me. I think these make the engine justice and are beautiful, and I couldn't have done better.

Now I'll go back to eating that chocolate. :)

Whoever did the artwork for the Chessbase Rybka cover should be commended, it looks great. However 99.90 Euros, which is currently equal to $157.95 USD, is a bit too high for the Deep version in my opinion, $100 sounds more reasonable.

Which Quad did you get Ted. Could you list the contents in
it.
I plan on getting one soon and would appreciate any info.

Best to you,

Gerold.
