Well, it stll compiles for me (Ubuntu 10.04). I changed MAX_ROUNDS from 10 to 20, and after 'make' I get an executable exactly as large as the old one. I uploaded it to http://winboard.nl/mamer20 . Not sure if it works; the constant MAX_ROUNDS was only used to top off the entered number. If we are lucky everyting is allocated dynamically based on the actual number. If it uses a fixed-size buffer for preparing the lines in the results table we are dead, though.

I'm on Linux Mint 20 that is based on Ubuntu 20.04 LTS, 10 years younger.

This tourney I will keep the mamer version without McMahon of which I'm sure it will work, next tourney I will try the McMahon version. This gives us some time to check if everything works like it should.

I will be there with my little pi4 ☺️

It may stay connected since the morning. So extra games will be possible.
It's nice that you want to play with your little PI4. I have the impression that you are playing with shashchess + livebook, can you put the engine you are playing with in your finger notes? Then other people will know what they are up against.

No livebook but a good book for sure to cope on thinking time against the big machines.

No shashchess.

I picked up the engine version that performs best with this platform and Ubuntu mate 20.04 after extensive testing. I compiled the engine myself with no name to keep the wondering/mystery for this first tourney like Komodo did for his tuning in CCC) 😊

I prefer to tell after the tourney (and i will tell then engine and all the setup) unless there is a rule that says I must tell it before?

The thing is a 1000kns machine can do something against 6000kns ones or even a 20000kns + machine if used at 100 %.

I don't think it will win but will do some good games.

There are no rules at all. It plays pretty strong for an engine on a tiny RPI4, there is a very big chance that it will win.
Let us know after the the tournament what it is.

So here is the setup i was playing with :

-Raspberry Pi4 with 8Gb Ram overclocked to 1850Mhz under Ubuntu Mate 20.04
-The book that won the last Sedat chess books tournament
-3-4-5-6 men tablebases + 3 of the 7 men tablebases all on SSD
-Hash 4096
-Egtb Hash = 256
-Engine : Cfish of 22/10/2020
-3-4-5 men tablebases loaded in ram before connecting to server.

If you think it can be still tuned please tell :-)

It was very close at the top, like I already expected rpiforchess on his RPI4 finished first place, it beats me how this is possible.
Nemorino is the runner up with the same number of points, rofChade ended third.
microMax is what we call in Dutch 'de hekkensluiter'.

Very impressive. Do you know how to convert the book to pgn or polyglot? Seems the author released it only in chessbase format.

It's not this book. This book is from Sedat himself but the book that won the last tournament is Perfect by Cevdet. It might be cerebellum3merge with lines updated with last top engines games/evaluations.
i picked it at Chess2u forum in polyglot format ;-) I don't think it is good for big configs but for little ones it helps :-)
