Ok. What was I saying?
That’s what I was saying. So, if they had just called out clearly that it was a neural network instead of an engine, it would be ok? Too easy. From the ChessBase announcement: “First implemented in chess in Stockfish 12, now it powers the new Fat Fritz 2, a neural network twice its size, which takes it to the next level – vast chess knowledge paired with lightning speed.” So Fat Fritz 2, according to ChessBase, is a neural net.
Fat Titz by Stockfish, the engine with the bodaciously big net. Remember: size matters. If you want to learn more about this engine just google for "Fat Titz".

Right. And since they modified the engine itself to claim Fat Fritz 2 is *not* just a neural network, but in fact is an SF clone, this disproves your claim of them being any kind of clear. So you were wrong. You should apologize to Andy.dkappe wrote: ↑Fri Feb 26, 2021 3:52 pmThat’s what I was saying. So, if they had just called out clearly that it was a neural network instead of an engine, it would be ok? That sentence doesn't actually say that Fat Fritz 2 is a neural network. In fact it's not a sentence, and it doesn't really mean anything at all. "It" here seems to refer to both NNUE technology and Stockfish 12, but it's unclear which pronoun goes with which concept. There are also WAY too many commas, making the sentence impossible to parse. So, if they had just called out clearly that it was a neural network instead of an engine, it would be ok? Too easy. It's more of a Rorschach Blot than a sentence, if we're being honest.
Don't get me wrong, it's masterful writing- seeming to say something, while not making any claims at all. But in the end it's just smoke.

Because this is an internet forum, dkappe feels free from the social consequences that his behavior would have in normal human interactions.
Having a different or unpopular opinion should be allowed; constant dishonesty and provocation should not. I believe moderation should act.

Sounds like an attempt to suppress an unpopular opinion.Alayan wrote: ↑Fri Feb 26, 2021 4:34 pm Because this is an internet forum, dkappe feels free from the social consequences that his behavior would have in normal human interactions.

I have not been dishonest. As for provocation, I think anything I post would provoke gonzo.
I’ve received several private messages telling me it’s not worth the energy fighting this corner, that my arguments are falling on deaf ears. I suspect they are correct.

The key point is that you don't have much of an argument, nor valid points made, and simply resort to lots of passive-aggressive posts. This is why most people have a different take on thisdkappe wrote: ↑Fri Feb 26, 2021 4:43 pmSounds like an attempt to suppress an unpopular opinion.Alayan wrote: ↑Fri Feb 26, 2021 4:34 pm Because this is an internet forum, dkappe feels free from the social consequences that his behavior would have in normal human interactions.

Framing yourself as a truth-loving victim, where everyone else is a mob with "torches and pitchforks", is not an accurate representation of the truth here.
