But LCZero needs more expensive hardware. So it makes not much sense to use it at all with current electricity prices?

Well depends what you use it for. For objective analysis, maybe not. But for opening prep OTB in human games I find Lc0 second to none.

I am sure it matters to professionals, or at least to players above 2200-2300 Elo. But for amateurs and chess enthusiasts like me, even a free version of Komodo is more than enough. The same goes for any good positional AB engine.
