You'd expect some summary of scientific advances that came out of computerchess at least. Or +anything+ scientific for that matter. Why should ICGA subscribers/members would have wanted to pay for this kind of event?

A video about the science of computer chess is a good idea. What's stopping you from making it?

I stand by my assertion that this video would be much better on YouTube, but your negativity seems undue: the video contains some of the great men of computer chess talking about some of the great events of computer chess. That's a good video.

What makes you think that I'd be able to do such a video? I am not. And why is it I should?

But you misunderstand the nature of the ICGA. It is not their purpose to meet on cool holidays financed by ICGA members per se, but they want to publish a periodic scientific journal.

In the past this was also made felt to people who wanted to participate in their tournaments. I remember that Bob Hyatt had to renew his membership when he decided to participate in the WCCC 2004 for back like 3 years. We are talking a pretty significant membership fee here.

The level of published articles has partly been low even in the past (like "The games of Junior in WCCCXXX" or similar stuff), but at least they tried to keep the cover.

Assuming that they now spoilt the rest of all the money of members availlable for this event I am perfectly in my rights to ask for a serious work published ( that may well be published behind some money border).

Has there been +anything+ scientific published following this "conference"?

ICGA membership fee is 20 euro/yr, if you choose to receive the electronic version of the ICGA Journal.
