Re: Koivisto 5.0

For years I had my own hand-typed LMR [64] [64] reduction table. Using the SF algorithm resulted in an almost equal table. Using that gave a small improvement after all. So Wilson, put me also on your black list :mrgreen: Schröder after you called me a stalker I have done some research on you :D an...

Re: Koivisto 5.0

I think you must be trolling as no possible formula would satisfy you. Dividing the remaining depth by some N? That won't work as Senpai did something similar first (and probably many others) -> you can't just divide remaining depth. Some type of exponential decay formula? That's already been tried...

Re: Time to rethink what Vasik Rajlich has done?

Haven't seen that. And what is more relevant, I haven't received any PM from him, nor was there any message from him in the Moderators forum section. In particular, he did not request from the admin to have his moderator rights revoked. So as far as I am concerned, it did not happen. http://talkche...

Re: Koivisto 5.0

1) same logic and even same formula for LMR initialization for (d = 0; d < 256; d++) for (m = 0; m < 256; m++) lmrReductions[d][m] = 1.25 + log(d) * log(m) * 100 / LMR_DIV; anyone interested can read more about this formula copied by everyone in the thread "A question about code similarities" opene...

Our search has also made a lot of progress. Adding further unique ideas not found in any other engine so far, we gained a large amount of elo inside our search since then. could you please point me to these "unique ideas not found in any other engine so far" ? I've taken a look at your search and a...

Re: will Tcec allow Stockfish with a Leela net to play?

I'de prefer everyone go purely original ... but .... Stockfish with a Leela-data-trained Network is still as original, or more original, than everyone except: Ethereal, Seer, Komodo . [ to my knowledge of NNUEs ] I thought you assumed Komodo used Stockfish's trainer since D. Kappe couldn't say and ...

will Tcec allow Stockfish with a Leela net to play?

if that happens other authors will do the same and Tcec will go downhill.

they need to make their "guidelines" mandatory rules, no exceptions, not even for Stockfish.

Re: Commercial Release of Ethereal 13.00 (NNUE) for AVX2 Systems

congratulations Andrew! I am glad you went from "I don't know the first thing about nn and I'm willing to pay anybody to train a network for Ethereal" to doing your own thing! that's better than all the "whining for relevance" you did last year for sure. Ethereal tends to lose to Stockfish and its d...
