Vice download link

Hi,

There seems to be some (justified) confusion about how to download Vice.

Version 1.1 is here:

http://bluefeversoft.com

Hopefully that helps.

Re: New engine releases & news 2021

While Vice didn't make any progress. My hunch is the endgame PSQT for the king, Vice doesn't have it IIRC. Interestingly in a much shallower depth, Zahak saw the mate way ahead of Vice. Both of them don't have endgame TB. Vice has a bug in null move pruning which causes some issues, especially mate...

Re: Confused by perft results: VICE in C vs VICE in JS

The problem is - HOW ON EARTH your JS version is only 1 second slower with "tricky position" (as you called it in your videos) compared to the C version??? Well, there is the fact that the C code is not optimised at all, so you may not be comparing the best case of each. I'll take a look at the vid...

Hi guys I've just made a following test: 1. VICE in C perft test depth 4: 4085603 nodes visited in 1577ms 2. VICE in JS perft test depth 4: 4085603 leaf nodes visited 2143ms JS version is slightly slower while JS code seems to be a port of C code. How on earth on that possible??? Just for compariso...

Re: Chess programming on YouTube: NOBODY CARES?

Hey what's up guys, Code Monkey King's (My YouTube nickname) here. Nice, just had a quick look and I'll make sure to watch them as they arrive. All the best with it! One of the wonderful things about CC is the contributions people make - be it from the top engines and authors, or the lower rated si...

** snipped ** Don't give up with it. There's no need to pressure yourself, no one will laugh, point the finger or anything. In fact, this community is the opposite - it's very helpful, testers and programmers alike. However, do make sure you take advice on board - and that usually starts with makin...
