Re: Stockfish: Our lawsuit against ChessBase

Is this the 1st time a chess-software-licence lawsuit is filled? If not, what are some previous instances? This is the first copyright infringement: http://chesscomputeruk.com/html/scisys_and_novag_-_the_early_years.html Finally someone takes action against Chessbase. I really can't understand why ...

Re: Moderator Elections (Comments)

The forum you linked to has a post in it's humor section about Hitler being humorous. I am of German Jewish descent & found that disgusting & will never post on your forum , much less vote for a moderator. Shame on your entire forum. John Karger. You take this completely out of context, suggesting ...

Even a bigger shame, that old warhorses here find this amusing. You spent so much time with freeware and open source engines, and you crap at the copyrights.

Thanks to the mods for removing the link and thanks to pozzo for pointing out the issue.

Re: Fritz 5.32 and older Chessbase products really free?

Look out , It's the Chess Police. .. It's a shame that nowadays one even gets attacked when claiming copyright issues. Many nice Chess-Projects died because programmers where upset by people who don't respect the copyright. Seems like you are one of those people who are responsible for the end of Y...

what is advantage of having private chess engine ? which cannot be downloaded ,used by others ??

You have to do support, you have to solve compatibility issues, you can't go commercial.

Gian-Carlo gave us Leela for free, so we better don't complain

Ok, well I figured out how to enter the moves but something seems out of whack. I had it play against the old Mephisto Amsterdam (simulator) on my PC and Cray Blitz just blundered one piece after the other. Cray Blitz played white, the moves were

Re: Cray Blitz

Anyone know how you enter the moves? No matter what way I enter it, it responds the move is illegal. It asks me if it should play white, no matter if I enter "Y" or "YES" it tells me it's my move. Then when I enter a move like d4 or d2-d4 it tells it's illegal. I also tried Nf3 but it said it was i...

Re: Cray Blitz

Many thanks for the interesting link!

But I am more interested in the CrayBlitz version I posted. Would be great to create a winboard compatible version that emulates the speed of the Cray at that times.

Best wishes,
Alex

Cray Blitz

Hi, did anyone manage to compile CrayBlitz on Linux? I tried it with gfortran and fort77 but I am a totally newbie with Fortran. fort77 -O -w -pipe -c options.f options: optlog2: optitoc: /tmp/fort77-3905-1.c:3036:22: error: conflicting types for ‘optitoc_’ 3036 | /* Character */ VOID optitoc_(char ...

There are so many methods. Where's the problem ?
Blocking IP ranges will always prevent some from joining here. And it is more or less useless, because the "bad guys" do also know about the "methods".
