Re: Minic version 3

I'm glad to release today Minic 3.09 with some bug fixes and a new embedded net named "nidicolous nighthawk". https://github.com/tryingsomestuff/Minic/releases/tag/3.09 This net plays quite good FRC chess and is a little stronger than negligible nystagmus at standard chess. As always, binaries are ...

Re: Hash result futility pruning

Hash table scores are unreliable due to the nature of AB. In the 90's for a long time I had a hash table reduction if the hash table score for a position went down with 0.50 or more. Much later with much better hardware (more games) it became clear it was an unsound idea.

MG | EG experiment

I created a tool that creates reasonable MG/EG PST's from a PGN database, nothing special so far, except if it splits MG and EG into 2 parts. Definitions: MG1 - for the opening and middle game with queens; MG2 - for the middle game without queens; EG1 - for the regular endgame EG2 - for the late end...

Doesn't work for everybody, many can't access the forum.

And Graham.

My policy would be to move to a new server ASAP. Same charter, same mods, same everything except a different URL.

Re: Moderator Elections

We are 2 days further, problem still remains, can't access the forum without VPN. Third time in a year this happens to me. When things become normal, what is Quentin Turner (the owner) saying? And what's the guarantee for the future? Why should we not move to https://www.forumotion.com/ The setup is...

Re: Moderator Elections

I am not sure if can hold fair elections right now, many members currently can't reach the forum. Also it's not known yet who is allowed to vote and who is not. Last, how is the voting done (there is no poll option) and who is going to count the votes.
