Re: Some more HCE "Texel Tuning" Data

In fact, if you are using your own trainer of sorts, and would like to "sanity check" what you've done (indifferent from your eventual methods of generating your own data), hit me up on the OpenBench Discord and I will send the 100M fens that I shared with Koivisto team for the same purpose. I just...

I'll note that this data proved terrible for NNUE. Since it was designed for HCE training specifically. Anything is better than nothing I suppose, but one can easily get much better data, with more diversity, on demand.
Copy that.

Re: Some more HCE "Texel Tuning" Data

Cheers Andrew, I am playing around with small nets in Javascript using your 13.04 data.

Re: Game Phase and tapered PSQT evaluation

With 'sanitized' you mean clipped to the value for the opening position? I don't understand why anyone would want to do that. If you interpolate, it is logical to extrapolate as well. It shouldn't have any effect on Elo anyway; the number of games in which material would exceed the opening material...

... but I program in JavaScript ...
Lozza 3 (Javascript) has a very simple tapered eval that may or may not help:-

phase is tracked in make/unmakeMove and then sanitised in eval.

[Lozza 3 is more original thank Lozza 2 (own eval), but weaker than the listed CCRL rating (which is for version 2)
I would estimate Lozza 3 to be at least 200 ELO weaker than Lozza 2 at the sort of time controls you are using.

Re: MCEC anyone?

Okey I ran a mini match with Zahak, and I didn't witness an issue due to the missing support for stop/quit commands. Will include lozza in the upcoming tournament. I prefer to finish the current one, as it is more than midway at the moment Many thanks. The stop/quit problem is due to Javascript bei...

I already have nodejs installed. So no problem at that front. Can you please fill in the registration form? You can find a link to it in the tourney homepage
Cool, thanks and done, but of course the link to a binary is a link to a text file :)

Re: MCEC anyone?

What a nice idea. I would love to join Lozza v3 (much weaker than Lozza v2) which currently has a minimal eval that I hope to populate with my own ideas and experiments. v2's eval was heavily influenced by the Toga User Manual (in turn a description of Fruit 2.1 eval) and I want to get away from tha...

Thanks for using some of your CPU time for Lozza 2.0; appreciated.
