On deciding a chess match (Armageddon)

Hi, I saw some chat on a chess site about Armageddon games. As some chess people pointed out , Armageddon is not the right way to go. IMHO playing a pair of blitz games and waiting for victory for one side is better than a single one game (Armageddon). This actually happens in football(soccer) penal...

Re: Tester needed

Cfish has GPL 3 license. I suppose it means we have to supply code with binaries and also GPL license. But there is the possibility of receiving donations too. I may pay some of donations to tester in case of success in this project.

Re: about xboard

[...] I am more interested in what you mean by 'recent files' and 'replay training'. XBoard has a 'Training Mode', but I never used it, and am not sure what it doesn. When user wants to open a file , in 'recent menu' , only files previously opened by XBoard should be shown. Right now a variety of fi...

about xboard

Hi, Given the recent increased progress on chess GUIs , Some have already recent files and specially replay training like that of ChessBase software. Or they can implement them. For the time being I may spend time on soft-wares other than Xboard. Yet it has some flaws that need to be corrected too. ...

Re: Identifying weak squares

I am trying to establish what is deemed as the "official" definition of a weak square, and what is actually a weak square. So far, I am getting the definition to be a square is weak if it is on rank 3 or 4 in your own half of the board and you can never now, or in the future protect that square wit...

Re: Position from self play for analysis

It seems to me both posts show a rough draw. My laptop initially showed a slight advantage for black. Now another position:
