Re: Moderator Elections (Comments)

Since the idea of a team with both HGM and Rebel came up more than once: would both of you even agree to such a constellation?

If not, it may make more sense to hold the election team-wise, not individually.

Re: Summer time - how does your PC cooling solution perform?

My CPU is at just 21K over room ambient at sustained full load, so 48°C right now. That's because it's a 65W 4C/8T part, and because I put a large air cooler on top of it. But the best thing is: the whole PC is still inaudible.

Re: Moderator Elections

I nominate Rasmus Althoff (Ras) It is my hope that Rasmus, Harvey and I could serve as a team. Accepted on both points. Moderation together with HGM and Harvey would be along the charter, i.e. mod intervention would require a charter violation. I'd mainly rely on posters using the "report" button i...

but is droidfish handling tourney or just engine versus human ?
No idea. I don't regard engine tournaments on a phone as relevant use case.

Re: Efficiently Generated Legal moves question

My perft is only about 8,000,000 leaves per second On my hardware, my engine has roughly 20M NPS for perft in the initial position, and 1.8M NPS for regular search. The move generator logic is the same as yours, with make/unmake, and the "in check" detection is without bitboards. Instead, with dedi...

Are there some default compiler settings that could have caused this?
Do you switch off I/O-buffering? Here's what I have during engine startup:

Code: Select all

(void) setvbuf(stdin,  NULL, _IONBF, 0);
(void) setvbuf(stdout, NULL, _IONBF, 0);

Re: Build apk package for Android from a c/c++ engine

Looks really complicated, with the reference site not even working properly.

Alternative: install Droidfish from the Fdroid store and use engines as executables like before. Problem solved.

I need a recent one.
Then you should post what exactly the HW requirements are.
