CCRL uses in their tests the authors compilations, or .........?
Most probably they do. If they compile themself and have a faster Windows binary than mine I would be happy if they contact me and show me their compiler settings.

Re: Stockfish: Our lawsuit against ChessBase

In case you didn’t notice: https://stockfishchess.org/blog/2021/our-lawsuit-against-chessbase/ Even though we had our first successes, leading to a recall of the Fat Fritz 2 DVD and the termination of the sales of Houdini 6, we were unable to finalize our dispute out of court. Can the SF team, or t...

Re: Any Testsuites in EPD format you can recommend?

I'm using the Arasan test suite for benchmarking progress. Spending 60 seconds on every position. But don't give too much on how many positions are solved. It can decrease although the engine got better. What helped me using the test suites in several cases was debugging why in several positions the...

Re: Banksia GUI released

OFF TOPIC but related to ChessUIs: Does someone know how to avoid that Arena 3.5.1 VERY OFTEN stops the running tournament asking this silly question??? I want a stable chess GUI! https://db5pap001files.storage.live.com/y4pObHCZukRsbsGPLsSaC9VY0nkD9WmmJvxi2pIYJT0CxLQeJ7MnGgMk_MzHP7Cr...

Re: Stockfish: Our lawsuit against ChessBase

I am a Christian. Two wrongs don't make a right. I don't follow any religion (just my personal one trying to be a good human) but I agree. I don't want to say that it is right to login into a foreign computer (which probably was badly protected). But never the less I am thankful that the license vi...

Re: Stockfish: Our lawsuit against ChessBase

Next you'll argue Houdini source code is available and therefore not a GPL violation. "Just ask for source on some Russian forum" It's how the Houdini source was obtained that bothers me. And does it bother you (and some others in this forum) more than the obvious crime of some greedy people steali...

Re: Banksia GUI released

Improving backup is just a workaround. Author should improve stability and fix the reason for the crashes. That's not always true. Maybe the whole pc crashes (not Banksia's fault) and even if Banksia was 100% stable, it would still lose games. The best thing to do would be to save the running tourn...

Re: Banksia GUI released

Please phhnguyen, Improve the backup feature :) Just re-played 200 lost games  Improving backup is just a workaround. Author should improve stability and fix the reason for the crashes. For this he probably needs some exact way to reproduce the crashes. Or he should provide some info how to ...

Re: RubiChess 2.2

Dear Matthies, first congrats and thanks for this new version of RubiChess. Could you give some details about the new version? Did you change/improve the HCE? I read the readme about the NN, but there is not much about the engine. Anyway, RubiChess is an excellent and mature engine and I think that...
