There was a chess player back in early 1900 that dressed like a clown and was a very decent player, I really like his dressing style, regardless how he played
Really? Who?

I remember a player who used to go to chess tournaments dressed in a white lab coat and rubber boots (wellingtons).

Re: New engine: Clover

I've noticed that in infinite analysis after about 16 minutes the engine stops reporting the time spent to the GUI.

Re: It walks like a clone, it quacks like a clone ...

Pardon my ignorance, but if the FatFritz2 code is on GitHub, why can't other developers incorporate the section that accesses the double-sized network into their own Stockfish forks and derivatives (suitably licensed)? That is, to offer the option of network size handling.

Re: Wish list for next version of Komodo Dragon

LK, about MCTS: What is the difference between "MCTS Hash" and the hash set by the GUI? And what is the best balance between them? About Komodo and Aquarium: Your printed books involved the use of Komodo within Aquarium's IDeA. But that stopped with the last one, I believe, and I don't remember your...

Re: Video review of chess GUIs for analysis

I did not know the 2nd position was from a Lc0 game - if I did I would not have been so surprised in the video when Lc0 found the move instantly! Quite. We are all looking for The Answer to any and every chess position: some method or software or something, like IDeA for example. We use up prodigio...

Re: Video review of chess GUIs for analysis

It's an outstanding video. I strongly recommend it to all players with an interest in chess software. Well done! -- You summarise the merits and demerits of the marvellous Aquarium very well. (The way you personally set up a new IDeA project looks suboptimal. And I'd have like to have seen all your ...
