Re: WB-engine authors please note!

Why not formally specifying it?

I don't think a post in a forum has enough authority to convince people to implement it.

Re: Polyglot 1.4w11 Released

Re: Polyglot 1.4w11 Released

Original windows port was by Fabien himself (just before WCCC 2005) for the preparation of Fruit's tournament opening book. It could well be that fabien himself was the author of this ? That would be very nice. Can someone confirm this? PG always ran on Windows but you needed the Cygwin dll. The cu...

Re: Polyglot 1.4w11 Released

Now that I have done a lot of restructuring of the Windows code it appears that the native port of PG is based on a class called "PipeStruct." Who is the author of that class? Is it Fonzy Bleumers? I did some Googling. I found some chinese websites but the license of the code is unfortunately in Chi...

Re: Appeal to SMP-engines programmers using UCI

And what software is used to run these tournaments? Shouldn't it save the configuration for each engine and apply that configuration whenever that engine is loaded during the tournament? Imaging you want to play a tournament with all engines using 1 CPU. Fair enough. You configure each engine in th...

Re: WB-engine authors please note!

Ok, so WB/XB will remember one set of settings for an engine but not more. Fair enough if that is what people think is the best. Something else. How do you tell the engine to return to its factory setting? If the engine remembers its previous settings the factory settings would be lost forever. EDIT...

Re: Polyglot 1.4w11 Released

Since Eric is not replying here is the part of PG1.4w11 that sets the engine priority on windows static HANDLE child; DWORD GetWin32Priority(int nice) { /* REALTIME_PRIORITY_CLASS 0x00000100 HIGH_PRIORITY_CLASS 0x00000080 ABOVE_NORMAL_PRIORITY_CLASS 0x00008000 NORMAL_PRIORITY_CLASS 0x00...

Re: WB-engine authors please note!

- compiled-in values of the "server" (here the engine executable) - are overridden by defaults from a config file of the "server" (here the engine.ini) - are in turn overridden by saved values a user has specified last time - are overridden by command line options at invocation time - are overridde...
