Re: Uri what is the difference between Movei421 and Movei423

one of the difference is fixing bugs in evaluation to have symmetric evaluation. Another difference is higher score for the part of my mobility score that is similiar to fruit's mobility. You can change mobilitydivider that is a parameter of version 423 it is practically fixed to be 512 in version 4...

I doubt if zappa used 512 processors in that game.
If I remember correctly they did not use them against rybka.

Re: Deep Fritz vs. Deep Junior -- Game 4: 0-1 (Junior again

In the ratings lists I see, Deep Fritz 10 rates higher than Deep Junior 10. What could be leading to Junior's solid performance in this match? Opening preparation? Better hardware? Good luck? Something else? I do not see Deep Fritz 10 rates higher than Deep Junior10 In the ssdf list Deep Junior10 i...

Re: Deep Junior vs. Deep Fritz -- Game 3: 1-0 (Junior wins)

Junior was out of book after Fritz' 20...Re8, and Fritz was out of book after it played 29...Nf6. According to the Chessbase article , the new move was Junior's 27.Bf4 I am surprised that the book was so long and it seems clear to me that the position after 29 moves is clearly better for white. I a...

Re: Movei does NOT know how to mate with a King and Rook

Movei certainly knows to do it with tablebases or at longer time control With tablebases all the engines ,no matter how dumb they are ,know to deliver mate with king and rook!! May be you didnt notice, without tablebases at longer time control. I have seen Movei mating many times with king and Rook...

Re: Rybka v Ehlvest rematch

actually i did make a positive counter suggestion play on the Internet against a different GM thereby eliminating the need for living expenses Steve This is clearly a bad idea because of possible cheating. All the idea of not playing in the internet is to prevent cheating. It is possible to cheat a...

Re: Revisiting Check Extensions

Note that I simply reduce depth after promotion(and reduce more if the promotions happened in pawn endgame) but I have no rule not to extend checks after promotion. I added this rule later after the rule of not extending checks that gives big advantage. Inspite of it I think that not extending when ...

Re: Revisiting Check Extensions

I decided to test reducing 8 pawns to 4 pawns at 100,000 nodes per move result after 30 games was 15-15 when part of the games were completely identical(not all of them but in every 2 games from fixed position the result was 1-1). Note that the 8 pawns helped me in the past to solve a problem when m...
