Wisecracker ...
Yes right ... but Arasan is great too.

Believe me ...
Arasan ... in dark age ... people are thinking ... Arasan ... must be a chess program!

:-)

Best
Frank

Funny for Germans is the name "Doch".
Is a pronoun.

Doch, Arasan ist ein schöner Name (in German)
However, Arasan is a better name (in English)

Wordplay ...
Doch ist doch schon wieder am gewinnen.
Doch is still winning again.

And all this in my bad English!

Shredder is great ...
Insomniac is great ...
Hiarcs is great ...
Zarkov is great ...
Pseudo is great ...
Phalanx is great ...

Many nice names!

Names I LOVE:

The Chess Machine (best name ever, we need a new plug in card BTW)
Shredder
Deep Blue
Deep Thought (better than deep blue)
Hydra (Dragons and beasts rule!)
Colossus
Genius
Komodo (Dragons and beasts rule!)
MChess (don't know why)
HIARCS
Cilkchess
Brutus
The King (don't mess with De Koning)
Red Queen

Names I HATE:
Junior (love the program, hate the name)
Stockfish (totally inappropriate for such a strong engine)
Chessplayer 2150 (might as well not call a man "Tom" but "man walking to bus stop 25 yards from his house")
Onno (sounds like "oh no", I've screwed up again)
Andscacs (And scabs? Gross.)

An engine that plays chess using only logical AND operations.
