When creating a tournament, you can find Adjudication box (near the bottom of the dialog window). At the moment, users can turn on/off, adjudicate games by length (set 0 if you want to ignore) and by probing Syzygy.

If you need different functions, tell me :)

At least adjudication by eval should be added. (with a condition)
Agreed......Also Need A box for each engines estimated rating strength when engine is added to the GUI...that way as tournament goes forward you can follow the ratings...Also unable to create opening book from a pgn file or a database file "create opening book for GUI"....

Sorry, not for the coming time. I don't have those boards either.
Really impressed by this GUI, and the speed of your progress! I'll be willing to pay for it when it reaches official release stage. 8-)
Thank you :D
BrendanJNorman wrote: Wed Dec 04, 2019 9:30 am For now, could you make it possible to resize the engine name/clock area.

It seems to me that the clock/engine name is very small in relation to the board and other windows.
I have added it to my TODO list. I will improve soon.

Another issue is that for engines with drop-down options (such as Komodo 13.2/ProDeo or Rodent 4's personality options) these do not appear, only an empty space.
Oops! Thanks for the report. It is a bug and will be fixed for the next release.

It is not hard for me to add simple boxes to show/maintain manually engines' ELOs. However, I don't know yet how to calculate/maintain them (ELOs) automatically. If you (and other users) think OK for that simple boxes (for manually entering), I may implement them soon.

Banksia GUI version 0.9

Post by phhnguyen »

Version 0.9 released

1) Bugs fixed: BSG is fixed almost all known bugs so far, including:
- Mem leak (one of the hardest bugs)
- Cannot add new opening books for tournaments
- Standard time controller did not add time correctly after a lap

2) Multi small improvements/adjustments

3) New features
- Improve graphics: customization for pieces and panel background, workable for lower resolution screens
- Nesting docking. The below image illustrates a complicated way to dock.
- Pickup and view engine-logs

Image

Notes:
- BSG now use colors with alpha channel (transparency) for everything it needs. Thus some color settings from previous versions may become completely transparent (alpha = 0). Color boxes of the below image (WDL) are transparent. Check and increase alpha if you see that problem

Thanks for the new release and some bug fixes.

Is it possible that some popcount instructions are used when trying to adjudicate by syzygy?
Just an idea, because this would explain the crashing here.

BTW what is the condition for the introduded adjudication by score?

I have been struggling with that issue. On one hand, I cannot reproduce the crash on my system. In another hand, I use Syzygy probe code from other programmers (from Fathom code) thus right now I don't know how to "enhancement" that code to get useful info/prevent it from crashing.

If you can please try some different configurations to help me to narrow the problem (check which configuration runs well, which one not)
1) Turn off adjudication
2) Remove completely Syzygy from tournaments (BSG and engines stop using it)
3) Fewer man, say 3-4 only
Guenther wrote: Fri Dec 06, 2019 4:03 pm BTW what is the condition for the introduded adjudication by score?
At the moment BSG adjudicates a game as a loss for the last move engine if:
- Resign score > 0 (thus, set it to zero to ignore). The unit is centi pawn
- Both last two moves of that engine have negative scores with absolutely value >= resign score

I don't implement adjudications by draw scores (as some chess GUI did) since I don't know the logic (how to adjudicate?).

1) Turn off adjudication
2) Remove completely Syzygy from tournaments (BSG and engines stop using it)
3) Fewer man, say 3-4 only
1) It does not crash with few men w/o Syzygy adjudication - engines still using Syzygy_5
3) It also crashes with Syzygy_4 men tables adjudication (created a new folder with 3-4 men only)

2) is obsolete because 1) already worked

Here Rubi tried to get ridd off its Q to reach a syzygy 4 men position, in the second attempt Ethereal took it
and Banksia crashed - nothing anymore in the log after Kxe4...

Each position selected there should be played from both sides.

Thanks for your nice GUI with a lot of features!

Is it possible in your GUI under Mac to run two (or three) engines (SF and Komodo) simultanously at one position to compare the output of each engines?

Can you implement in your GUI to read and use the Chessbase Megabase Format CBH as well as the Fritz Powerbook CTG?

That is planned in the next HCE release: http://www.hiarcs.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=9768

That would be great for a free GUI for several platforms!

Keep going on with your nice tool!
