Nice. I don't think Francesca had a clue that was happening. Maybe some more eval work needed, then.

What's OpenTal by the way?

OpenTal is an open source UCI chess engine that emulates weird and wonderful chess of "the wizard of Riga" - Mikhail Tal. It is based on Rodent, and probably plays at 2500-2600 Elo level. The exquisite tuner of chess engines, Brendan J. Norman, transformed all the missing rating points into pure style. OpenTal will sacrifice material, turning the chess board into a world of chaos, and will mount a reletless pressure on its opponent's position.

Against decent engines, OpenTal will overpress and lose. However, it is not meant to play against engines. It is meant to play against you.

Wasn't supposed to play against engines, but turned out dangerous at times against them anyway.

Nice ones!
I managed to compile OpenTal 1.1 this morning thanks to a post in this forum.

Would be Nice to have FENs and test other engines on those positions.

Version 1.1 is a little less aggressive from what I've found.

Pawel made some changes to the search and somehow this resulted in some typical "Tal ideas" being pruned or something.

I recommend version 1.0.

Thanks. Corchess says if 24.... Rook f7 instead of a6 for Black then White can't take Rook h5 (Ev.-5) but did not found the White move at depth 27. So the a6 move was the blunder one.
