So the SF developers have said they've gotten contempt to work with NNUE and you took them at their word?! Why not check for yourself? I can tell that it has no effect on what eval score is displayed. You can set it to a high value, low value or turn it off, and it's all the same.
In general, you should try to form an opinion from your own trials and experiences whenever it's practical and not buy into whatever so and so says about something, no matter what their credentials.

I appreciate the promotion, but I'm no GM.
For the record, what I do is (a) set contempt to 0 and (b) compile separate version of major SF releases so that the engine always is operating with the NNUE eval or the classical eval. I just like to know what I'm analyzing with.
