A funny game with a d7 pawn stuck to its original square, a poor Drofa losing all mobility and bringing all its pieces back to the 8th rank into a weird chess960 position at move 21, and a nice final mate.

A nice game! Also Amoeba used always much less time in that game than Drofa (not sure if the TM should be improved though?)
I didn't know that the QLeague plays now from the start position - I guess they play just games per opponent?
I once made a macro for converting TCEC pgns to compressed readable ones. (Last number is TL = time left in my version)
Already in move 13 Amoeba climbed up to an eval of 1.21 and never looked back from there.
Drofa had already made 3 Q moves in the first 12!?

Edit:
BTW the display of depth 1 and eval 0 while already in winning position between mate scored moves would break some of my tools ;-)

Re: Amoeba vs Drofa - TCEC-S21-QL, a funny game
Black's problems begin with 8 ... Ng6, allowing c2-c4
Black is in the so-called Maroczy bind, where white has full control of the center with c4 and e4, and black's d7 pawn is backward. Now black has to break this bind, or he will be pushed backward, as you've seen in the game. Black should castle, play Bb7, Ne7 (the knight should have stayed there) and then push d7d5; if white goes Bf3, then Qd8 may be required.
If black can open up the position while the bishop is on b7, he can play his queen around to the king-side for the possible beginnings of an attack.
Instead of Ng6, black should probably have played d7-d5 immediately, and either put the knight on c6 (if white takes, and black plays cxd5), or leave the knight on e7 for now and go g6 and Bg7.
