Why was GM Savic so Upset, do NOT understand, GM Pranav made a legal move, so what is the reason ? See if you can find the winning move with your engine with White, please do NOT use any endgame Tablebases.

Maybe because there is no winning attempt but just moving around waiting if black potentiallu blunders ?Chessqueen wrote: ↑Sat Jul 17, 2021 3:01 am Why was GM Savic so Upset, do NOT understand, GM Pranav made a legal move, so what is the reason ? I inserted comments in the key positions of the game. The requested position to analyse in the original post should be the next one, which happened twice in the game:

SF 14 with full 3, 4 and 5 Syzygy EGTB (opposite to OP's request of not using EGTB) rises its eval up to +61.12 at depth 47/51 in my old PC from year 2010 after searching more than 27095 MN:
There were 18,518,886 TB hits up to depth 47/51 and 21,333,390 TB hits up to the last shown line at depth 48/56+. It is needless to say that I can not figure the winning move, it looks so drawish for me!

Savic's upset after Ra7 (2:43 in the video, then playing upset from there) might be for Pranav shuffling pieces in a drawn position because the 50-move rule and the 75-move rule were far from there (I counted 20 moves from f4 push), thinking that being a minute up in the clock will not make him blunder. I annotated the incomplete game in PGN:Chessqueen wrote: ↑Sat Jul 17, 2021 3:01 am Why was GM Savic so Upset, do NOT understand, GM Pranav made a legal move, so what is the reason ? Maybe it was the noise in the playing hall or loud kibitzers.Chessqueen wrote: ↑Sat Jul 17, 2021 3:01 am Why was GM Savic so Upset, do NOT understand, GM Pranav made a legal move, so what is the reason ? Re: Why was GM Savic SO Upset, do NOT understand ?
I do not know why the GM was upset, if he was. Did he think his opponent was not making progress? But in the position Ajedrecista took the time to post, the engine’s Kh3, going after the weak f5 pawn, was easily winning for white. Maybe he was hoping black would just blunder in time pressure.
It would be interesting to know the players’ reactions later, if and when they discovered that white had a win.
