Non-Polish users cut off from TalkChess

Post by ydebilloez »

Users from .cd and .zm cut off from internet.

I wonder if there are any hackers here, a lot of users still using VSAT... Please grow up and get the ban lifted, this policy is unbearable.

Its a shame.
The word international should be replaced by „from some areas“ instead.

"When Polish usere were cut off, I did not complain, I was not Polish after all".

I wish IP blocking to affect all the users here.

Try to use an US proxy server:

https://www.proxynova.com/proxy-server-list/country-us/

I used 51.81.186.206 port 8080 to write this message. You can setup a proxy in your OS network settings or browser settings.

Thanks, works like a charm. BTW, using an UK based VPN also works.

???

For those who are unaware of the situation. The TalkChess.com hosting sponsor is a chess set seller in the US. They tend to block whole non-US IP-blocks to counter hack-attacks against their online-shop. TalkChess is side-hosted on their shop-sever, so the blocking also affects our little community. You can use a VPN or you can use a US http-proxy to get access in case you are affected by this IP-blocking.

Doesn't work for everybody, many can't access the forum.

You run for moderator with Chris, put it on your policy/agenda.

And Graham.

My policy would be to move to a new server ASAP. Same charter, same mods, same everything except a different URL.
