Open Letter to Komodo/Dragon Team

Post by jshriver »

Can you change you version # in uci string? I've been running a dedicated node for a while now and just bought dragon 2. But the UCI info is still dragon with no version #.

Broader scope think engine vs engine or analysis on pgn, name goes by uci name output, and its still Dragon so can't tell if Dragon 1 or 2.

Sorry :(

If anyone wants a sneak peak check http://openchessdb.com been working on it since last Christmas.

-Josh

Edit: In humble opinion the "id name" after UCI should be "Dragon 2 by Komodo Chess 64-bit"

Can't wait to play it, but dont want to taint my dataset not knowing if v1 or v2 yet

Checking strings, thought i could temp fix by searching for string and sed replace... but mentions %s and kills it.

So I think your version release missed declaring a version # for %s in that string?

Good point. It shows the order you want on startup, but not for the UCI "id name" string. I just fixed the code and future versions will do as you requested. Thanks for letting us know.

I see what your concern is all about, but when you export the pgn or entire game like I am doing here, you will clearly see Dragon-2-64bit-avx2. I can NOT wait until Mr. Kaufman release the newer version with the level Option to based on ratings where if I want to play versus the preset rating of 2000, I can just select that rating under the level
