Brilliant!

My first impression is CS Tal 2 is insanely strong and fun to play with. Huge congrats to Chris

Hi there,

Of course, I looked directly to see if Stefan Pohl had already tested.
Seems to be very strong.

Nice for my tourneys (private available today).

Thank you and good luck for the next official computer chess tournaments and rating systems.

Best

I think I may have finally got the bottom of those strange disconnects. They only happen (I think) if the system is being stressed by more threads than cores, so they're a timing issue (I think) in the UCI handling where it was clearing down each UCI line after handling it (pointlessly, but that was a kludge of some other fix lost back in the mists of time) - net effect was that (I think) sometimes an occasional new unprocessed UCI line could get cleared BEFORE it got handled. Anyway, horrible old kludge removed, and it seems way better now at higher concurrencies. So, maybe fixed.

I'm getting frequent crashes on my machine: "CS TAL2 caused an exception. This is a problem in the engine"

Happy to share details, is email best?

Queen sacrifices are rare between top engines, enjoy the 3 examples.

I think you need to use polyglot. Install polyglot instead of CSTal.
Run a batch file of polyglot that starts CSTal with all the needed parameter.
So make polyglot as uci engine calling cst.
