Re: On-line engine blitz tourney June
Interesting moment to test the performance of pi4 with new x2 layer net.
Nodes per second are clearly halved by 2 or more from 800k-1000k /s to 350k-500k/s.
Interesting to see if new evaluatioon net layer can compensate less nodes and less depth search.
Will be corchess engine again.

Re: On-line engine blitz tourney June
I'm curious too.
Stockfish is capable of playing on par with other engines that have a speed advance of 100 to 1. It's amazing to see what many years of trial and error by a large group of people can do.

Re: On-line engine blitz tourney June
rofChade and Nemorino ended both on top. Nightmare and rpiRofchade came in second.
This time rpiforchess was a bit unlucky because his engine got stuck one round before the last.
rpiforchess, Goldbar, Marvin, Minic and atomGoldbar ended on a shared third place.
Unfortunately Zahak came a bit late to the party, his connection dropped 50 mins. before tournament start. Hopefully he will be there next time.
This time there were a lot of NNUE engines, rofChade, Nemorino, Nightmare, rpiforchess, Goldbar, Marvin and Minic to name a few.
See you all next time!

I'd suggest to also include -keepAlive 1 in future tournament announcements. That may have kept Zahak in for this match.Joost Buijs wrote: ↑Wed Jun 16, 2021 11:12 amTo connect:

Thank you again for organizing the tourney next time I'll try to append `keepAlive`

Re: On-line engine blitz tourney June
Indeed, as far as I know the server drops the connection after 1 hour of inactivity. I use -keepAlive 30 (sends a ping every 30 mins) this is more than enough to keep the connection up. On the other hand it would be nice when people attending the tournament are actually there when the tourney starts.Ras wrote: ↑Sat Jun 19, 2021 11:28 pmI'd suggest to also include -keepAlive 1 in future tournament announcements. You have to thank 'Eendje' (Lisebeth, Bart Goldhoorns soul mate) for running the tournament, I just keep the hardware running. For many years she was tourney manager at ICC, she knows all the ins and outs of this old piece of software.
