Nordlandia wrote: Tue Nov 12, 2019 9:11 am What is the difference between "Fritz17Setup_x64" and "Fritz17Setup_Win10" ?

I run on Windows 10 64-bit.
I was wondering the same thing, I have only setup and am testing the Fat Fritz Network right now. I would like to save my Fritz 17 key for now as they just renewed my Playchess subscription. Note to self turn off auto-renewal!!!
I used the Fritz17Setup_x64.msi File and it installed the Fritz17 GUI on my system (Windows 10, Home, 64bit)

George Tsavdaris: yes i opted for that solution, i think it make sense that way. Also the Win10 package is slightly larger (perhaps more content for latest windows.

It is a 256x20 Net. But the file on HDD is compressed - it can no be read by lc0 0.22.0, only by the FatFritz-Engine.exe
It's not compressed, they just changed the header for Lc0 not to be able to load it.

Lc0 v0.23 will be able to open it. Or current master can. Or you can patch this line manually:

Oh cool, we’ll be able to get the weights and run a battery of tests on them running in lc0 environment. Will report back on move selection and evaluation similarities and evaluation correlations. We already tested an array of lc0 nets at d=1

That’s bizarre, because the ChessBase product description page says:
  • Based on the AI technology by DeepMind that created AlphaZero, Fat Fritz is a new set of custom made neural network weights that work in the open-source project Leela Chess Zero.

Lc0 v0.23 will be able to open it. Or current master can. Or you can patch this line manually:

Is there any sort of copyright or legal note attached to the weights file(s)? Or some kind of general all-product encompassing legal notice?

Thinking of buying Fritz 17.
One question. Will the current NN being used by Fat Fritz be updated ?
If so, how will it reach the Customers ?
Also, if so, will it be free Updates or will we have to pay for every updated NN ?

According to Chessbase, the answer is yes.

"Important note: While Fat Fritz is already incredibly strong, its development is not over, and over the next months, owners of Fritz 17 will enjoy upgrades to the neural network."
