For us CM nerds it's great fun I agree! :D
To others it will be seen as a complete waste of time.
I remember the day when Axel Schumacher came up with some great personalities

Hope one day he does another cameo
Axel, Jason Kent and Wilhelm Hudetz all used to come up with some good ones. :P
I love the powerful engines as well as anyone but sometimes i still "wax poetic" about the old days in computer chess

I old enough to still have saved my collection of the printed "Computer Chess Reports". One issue was about Chessmaster finally making it to the big leagues with a 2400 rating :)

I think de Koning started with CM on version 4000.
Nope,with Chessmaster 2000 :D

Yes - I recall going to my friend Bruce Barnard's place, where we'd pit the dedicateds against the pc programs like MChess and Rex. :)

It is nice to know that there is group that remembers the excitement of the old days :)

I know engines are super powerful now, but it does not share the same fascination of those great days. We were all wondering then, how far can we go?

The journey is often as fun as reaching the destination

Alright guys, I invented the fig leaf shorts

And Graham, everyone knows it was those travelers from Atlantis (Or Mars where they have that face) who build those pyramids

Proof!

On a side note, any rumors of a CM12?
