Is CIPOLLINO 3.24_x64 a new engine?
What can you tell us about it?

Hi Howard

Cipollino is a private UCI engine by Gian Carlo Delli Colli (Italy).

The author was part of the Lion++ project that got forfeited from the WCCC 2006 in Turin (http://www.cs.unimaas.nl/wccc2006/) for being based on Fruit.

When Cipollino registered to OpenWar 5th (http://www.open-aurec.com/chesswar/Open ... penwar.htm) I asked the engine to be checked by Christopher Conkie, and actually Cipollino was forfeited in the first place after some similarities with Fruit in the output were found (http://www.open-aurec.com/wbforum/viewt ... 94&t=49758).

Further investigations were made though, and nothing suspicious was found in the source code.

Cipollino and Lion++ are not listed anymore in the Wiki Clones List (http://computer-chess.org/doku.php?id=c ... ngine_list)
