Brilliant!
This resolves the mystery of how you can mixed up if Deep Sjeng is in 2nd place or 4th place.
Good explanation!

I suppose it was already discussed about why atleast Naum wasn't also in it?
Perhaps Naum would have been the clear 2nd place?

Because the author did not enter it. Ask him why.

Right, useless discussion.

It is now fixed. Rank "2" is displayed for all 3 programs.

Each time the page is displayed, programs are ranked in a random order. So you can reload the page until you get your favorite ordering :-)

Maybe because, if he is not second, (at worsed), then he damages his sales badly. If he IS second, then he increases them. But the risk is too great. So the third idea is not to enter it, then atleast it is almost as if he came second, ahead of the others, besides Rybka, because that MIGHT have happened.
The risk is too great, and it is not fair that he should get that ranking from a mere tournament of a few display games.

Personally I believe more any promotion is good promotion.

If you play in these tournaments, you get visibility. People learn that your engine exists. It doesn't matter so much if you don't win, it's the World Championship after all. Most people understand that you cannot win everything. But why not play? It is as if you didn't qualify to even play.

Participating is more important than winning is the Olympic credo. Now I personally think winning is at least as important as participating, but you cannot win if you don't participate :)

Agreed. Many authors should look forward to ACCA World Online Champs next tournament! I'd like to see many participants there, like how it was at CCT! :)

And where are the games of the open and blitz tournament? Are they available?
