Chess is not always about material, It's more about tactics.

If you have even minimum number of pieces at the right side of the board where your opponent's king is not well defended, and you can spot tactics, then the game is over.

I lost Romi's, "Evergreen Game":(--it was from a tournament by Karl-Heinz Sontges. In the game, Romi sacked (lost) just about everything, but still managed to give mate with very little material left while surrounded by a veritable enemy army. I wonder if anyone saved Karl-Heinz's pgn collection?

I don't think Karl makes his games available for download, but it's best to ask either him or Tony. Perhaps Dann Corbit has it in his junk base games collection?
