Maybe not. Perhaps it escaped and got renamed.
This is something that I considered as well. Frustrated by not being able to distribute Rybka 3+ through ChessOK and Chessbase he may have leaked it anonymously.
As for the source code, perhaps he was just tired of having no threatening competition and thought he could anonymously raise the stakes by putting out the R3+ code out there in hopes that a strong competitor would arise, something to give Vas the energy and incentive to improve his engine further.

Guenther,my position regarding the Rybka affair and all the aspects related to it is none of your business so I do recommend to mind your own business....
Never the less,for your own joy,I haven't hear from Vasik since the release of of the second generation of Rybka and that will translate to a loooong time ago....
I don't expect gifts from no one,I can buy them with my own honestly earned money....

This is a confusion the product chessok is selling is aquarium 2010, the new version of Aquarium 3, if you buy from them you will get Rybka 4 whenever is available this year or next one for free, but this is not Rybka 4 announcement.

You will most probably get Rybka 4 for free,but hey,this is not a promise....the Rybka team may skip the Rybka 4 release and decide to go straight for Rybka 5 or even 6 as the Rybka 3+ was skipped....

Chess base does indeed work well enough for me -tho my curiosity is peaked by the IDEA concept.... Another point - The R3+ issue is quite an issue. Especially so since some of the issues in straight R3 is rather ....acute. However - was it officially anounced that R3+ will not be released of which I am unaware? I am curious as to that. Perhaps if not maybe VR will release it when R4 comes out --somewhat -if memory serves correctly- in the manner that R2 was released when R3 made it's debut. Rather an unacceptable long wait IMHO..... (I posted my link due the fact that I could not open the entire link of http://chessok.com/?p=22964 completely....perhaps due to my security settings.)

Rybka 3+ has not, from what I'm aware, been cancelled officially. The release just seems unlikely now for various reasons.
