Really sad :( Surprised that we were not informed earlier. Condolences to the family.

Marc Lacrosse has contributed many opening books, to polyglot code, and to a lot of features in Scid. He of course has a lot more contributions to chess in general, especially correspondence chess.

I could not find a cause of his death in the certificate. Does anyone know the cause of his untimely death?

Sad indeed....I still can't believe that he's gone :cry:

It was an heart attack...
I knew that in August but as there were 2 "Marc Lacrosse" in Belgium :

and as I didn't know who was the one in the CC field, I didn't want to report false bad news ...

FM Marc Lacrosse, born in 1958.
No, he is the other one as Vincent already pointed out (second link). I already made the same mistake, picking a wrong photo on a cpw page. Marc was born 1961, see here.
