Zappa Mexico II needs big hardware and long time controls to show its muscle.

My impression is : blitz ie 2+2 in Q6600 is not the thing of Zappa.
Zappa is better at long tcs.

Best,
Hi Harun,
These are definitely long time control settings, not blitz or bullet....
I've played more than 300 games at 20 minutes + 20 seconds increment and Zappa Mexico II WD is +72 so far....
Dr.D
Comprehended.

And your hardware is also 4cpu or better than Q6600?

Minimum 4 cores, I suppose.

Could you share with us your experience on minimum TCs?
Something like:

4 cores: 20+20, 35+30

8 cores: 10+15, 20+25

16 cores: 5+10, 10+15

:?

Best,
My hardware is Quad Q9650 overclocked to 4 GHz using water cooling....damn fast but the i7 family is closing the gap quickly so in a year or two even this hardware of mine will be antique

When I was testing Zappa Mexico II it was during the days where Rybka 2.3.2a was the strongest engine. I managed to get my Skulltrail (8 cores) to run all 8 cores at 4.8 Ghz. In a match I made against Rybka 2.3.2a, Zappa Mexico II was finally able to beat Rybka 2.3.2a at 30min + 1sec increment. Before that Rybka would always beat ZM II at all time controls I tested. That is why I was not surprised when ZM II beat Rybka in their match in Mexico. ZM II has very good scaling, much better than Rybka 2.3.2a. However with Rybka 3 the scaling advantage has gone and now Rybka doesn't have a scaling disadvantage anymore.
