Deep Sjeng 1.0 updated to 1.6 came with the Redshift personality. You would have to ask Lex from Lokasoft I guess. I gave my Deep Sjeng copy a friend.

I bought Deep Sjeng 3.0; it may be on there as I _still_ have not loaded it, along with Fritz 12, Rybka 3, Loop List, Komodo, and 45,000 others it seems like. Obtaining ratings for these engines the way I do takes time as each engine must play in at least three tournaments against a variety of opponents (as in human tournaments) to obtain a baseline and go from there.

Thank you for your info; I will look there soon enough.

Drowning in engines regards,

It was a Sicilian Defense, and actually...errrr...it was not me that lost. At one point way back then I kept about 40 - 50 games going and at work when things were slow I would set up the position from one of the games from memory and fiddle with it. Used to be able to do things like that, nowadays, I can't remember....what was my name again? :)

All of this is on private mail now so as to not clutter the public forum with the ramblings from one who is ancient of days of the forgotten ways. :)

It was fun, getting those postcards, then breaking out the board and puzzling over what to do next. At one point I had one room with about 12 boards set up, running down variations and sub-variations, resetting the position to "the board to the left", and working my way around the room.

All that changed after college, when it became a chore, and I tired of it. It was fun while it lasted.

The last game I played in correspondence was one with John Vehre, in Gothic Chess, my 80-square variant (see GothicChess.com) and he killed me pretty good.

If you can get Junior to play like the old Deep Sjeng personality Redshift, I'll be surprised. Redshift was insane, and very strong against humans for a quick, fast win.
It would be really interesting to match Redshift against these Junior custom settings.

i've cranked up mobility, space & king safety to around 170, set contempt at 30, and passed pawns at 120, & it plays absolutely wild stuff, & will almost instantly spot any sacrifice i've thrown at it yet. right now i think i'm going to bump KS to something like 250 to see if it doesn't completely break the engine. i'm still looking to make it even more aggressive with pawn pushes against the enemy king (i guess i should turn space up more); i'm aiming for a 2500-2600+ coffeehouse personality.

figured some of the guys around here have messed around with it a bit more, so let's share in the fun.
I'm currently trying to create a Komodo Gambit personality. Hopefully i can create something that will play wild interesting chess.

Hi David I think that would be interesting match this Junior setting vs Rybka 3 Dynamic with contempt 30. M Ansari said that this setting is very wild and play a lot sacrifices, other suggestion is Rybka winfinder, even a match between Junior2010 and Junior 7 would be very nice!!

rybka 3 dynamic with contempt 30 is still probably a 3000+ elo engine. my custom junior is probably something like 2600. while r3 dynamic does play interesting chess it is still ridiculously strong & would destroy any of the engines being talked about here in a match. in fact i would guess it would beat any engine outside of the ippolit family in any match.

Deep Sjeng also has a "Gambit Kitten" personality.
