And Ed's program, Kingsrow, was one of the programs that could not win in the 7-piece endgame where it had 4 pieces and my database defended the losing side with 3 pieces. I think I am to "blame" for his creation of the DTC databases for his program

:)

So you were the one who almost gave Schaeffer a heart attack, lol! He mentioned that one of his web people put the announcement on the production server instead of the test staging server, or something like that, and almost jeopardized the whole thing.

That is interesting, isn't it? Is your picture on his dartboard?

:)
I emailed Jonathan after his update came out and he thanked me for the "contribution" to his book!

That sounds like Jonathan, he is a very nice guy.

I was just kidding about the dartboard, of course :)

His was a roller coaster ride, but the persistence finally paid off.

Yes, Jonathan is a very nice guy! I've only sent him a few emails, but he has taken the time to nicely respond to each one.

I decided to help Jonathan out a bit. He says, even today, people still think that Arthur Samuel solved the game of checkers, back in the 1960's.

So, I added this page:

Maybe it will eventually make its way into the google search engine.
