Re: Predict CCT 12 Winner
I checked with Don and unfortunately Komodo MP is not ready yet so I will be playing Komodo 1.0 JA in CCT12 (on one core of a Q6600@3.6).Komodo - if they improved it as the same pace as they were and have SMP, it's going to be a massive opponent.

Re: Predict CCT 12 Winner
wow, i'm surprised shredder is leading. i realize SMK does have a reputation. sjeng was an easy vote for me however.
i agree with GCP that thinker is surely as deserving of votes as anyone else (well, he didn't say that, but that's what i think). btw, i'm not convinced komodo will be SMP for the tournament based on what larry's been saying. hope so though, as i am really looking forward to its official release, which has been put off by some dillweed who wanted it to play some weird chess variant.

Re: Predict CCT 12 Winner
I had voted for Komodo without knowing the kind of hardware sjeng/shredder will be using.
I think komodo is a dark horse. It's main advantage is that it has Larry Kauffman values for imbalances.
Shredder obviously has better chances but we will see.

I'd like to see a victory by Crafty. At 24 x 10^6 nodes per second it should at least make a good showing.

Yes, I voted for Crafty too. This is a tournament on FICS though, an uncertain factor if there are differences in stability on this server. Crafty has been tested for years on ICC but you never know if things are a bit different now with a new account on a new server? But that is all in the game. If the move to FICS does not work well maybe next time the tournament could be played on Harm-Geert's little server?zullil wrote:I'd like to see a victory by Crafty. Debugging is twice as hard as writing the code in the first
place. Therefore, if you write the code as cleverly as possible, you
are, by definition, not smart enough to debug it.

Some of those you removed will get more points than some you listedZagalo wrote:Predict CCT 12 Winner. Select one engine
Engine names are copied from http://cctchess.com/participants.html at the time
Poll options are limited so had to remove many engines
According to the site, the tournament date will be 'February 20-21, 2010'. So the poll is set to run for 4 days
