Another nice tournament Andi.
Is there any reason why you're not using Deep Rybka 4.1 or Stockfish 2.3.1?
Graham.

Re: TBOC 5 : very long time cont tour with new komodo hiarcs
Hi,
yes the reasons are:
1.) i don't have Rybka 4.1
2.) at the time i started this tour the best SF versions was the 2.2.2....
Regards
Andi

I'd thought that Rybka 4.1 was a free update, but I was obviously wrong.
Stockfish 2.2.2 is pretty much the same strength as 2.3.1, so not much lost there.
Keep up the great tournaments.
Graham.

Wow, Komodo is tied for the lead giving everyone else 2 cores to 1 handicap! That's a great result.Alibaba wrote:Hi,

Re: TBOC 5 : very long time cont tour with new komodo hiarcs
What's the overall White-Black score? I happen to have a special interest in the Marshall Gambit, even though I rarely actually play it. It has always been one of my goals to have Komodo evaluate it properly (with enough analysis) as close to equal, since that is the accepted GM eval for it. So far though I can't get the final minimaxed eval lower than 0.22, which is better than most engines but still higher than I'd like to see.Alibaba wrote:Hi,
yes the performance of Komodo 5 at this very long time controls is really impressive....
after 7 rounds, here is the new table:
TBOC_5 2012
1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8
1 Houdini 1.5a x64 ** 1 ½ 1 ½ ½ ½ ½ 4.5/7 16.00
2 Komodo 5 64-bit 0 ** ½ ½ 1 1 ½ 1 4.5/7 13.75
3 Critter 1.6a 64-bit ½ ½ ** ½ ½ ½ ½ 1 4.0/7 13.25
4 Deep HIARCS 14 WCSC 0 ½ ½ ** ½ 1 1 ½ 4.0/7 12.50
5 Stockfish 2.2.2 JA SSE42 ½ 0 ½ ½ ** ½ ½ ½ 3.0/7 10.25
6 Deep Fritz 13 ½ 0 ½ 0 ½ ** 1 ½ 3.0/7 9.50
7 Deep Rybka 4 x64 ½ ½ ½ 0 ½ 0 ** ½ 2.5/7 9.25
8 Deep Junior 13.3 ½ 0 0 ½ ½ ½ ½ ** 2.5/7 8.50

Re: TBOC 5 : very long time cont tour with new komodo hiarcs
Hi Larry,
it might be better to wait until end of the tour to examine the back-white score. At the moment black has 2 more wins.....
by the way, it might be interesting that Junior and Hiarcs evals this position nearly equal, and the main line better for black so they try to avoid playing the main line, but with no good results for white....
