Day 3

Game of the day, Equinox vs ClusterToga. A nice win in the French variation.

Nice game to replay indeed.
Critical point is this position. Equinox played 25 Qxh4+ , where Qg7 + Kd6 Qe5+ leads to a perpetual and draw Equinox plays for a win
After the played 25 Qxh4+ Kd6 26 Qf3? is the loosing move.
Houdini comes up with Bg6 and f4! in analysis as better moves

I am done with live games. My wife complained about the low WebSpeed.
It takes too many bandwith.

Sorry
But I will update the webpage daily with the ReplayZone.
Crosstable updated automatic.

Hi all

the first Cycle is done now. 231 games played. The tournament needs a lot of recources. Right now 24 cpus are involved and I am thinking about join in another 8 cpus. 3 games at the same time, 4 cpu each and ponder on. UFF

Here is the crosstable:
Image

Houdini with a superb scoring.
The middle of the field is verry intresting.
After replacing Gaviota which had a hash bug, it begins to score points.
Book is doing well after a few adjustments. Verry less losses right out of book and a good spread over the ECO codes.
Cycle 2 is running.

Games and replayzone updated daily.

Regards, Clemens

One game shall be live transmitted and be seen in your browser (beta stadium, still working on that)

Crosstable and pgn comes soon. Just want to make the screenleap working better.

I would like to thank Clemens publicly, and to all testers who put an effort in not only running tournaments, but also in paying attention to possible problems, detect it, and inform the programmers about it. Clemens pro-actively looked for a problem when he saw that this Gaviota beta version was losing all the games, and found that it was not initializing the memory it was told by the GUI. Another hero, Adam Hair, reproduced the problem for me in Windows and sent me the logs. After that, it took me 5 minutes to fix it.

Miguel
PS: For the technically inclined, it was an aliasing problem of a global variable in the code that process UCI commands. It showed up in this version because I used for the first time the compiler switch -O3 in Mingw64

Book is doing well after a few adjustments. Verry less losses right out of book and a good spread over the ECO codes.
Cycle 2 is running.

Hi ALL

hope you had a nice Christmas :-)

After a while my tournament has reached the 400 games(60+15,4cpu,ponder=ON!). I estimate it will be finished in 2 days.
So many intresting games...I cannot find "the game of the day". There are too many in one day which are highly intresting.
A few engines lost because of errors, crashes, engine stops. All in all <10 games in total yet.
Some statistics:
Average game length is 61 moves. So it was a good choice to play with tablebases, 60 +15 can be verry long game.
Games : 402 (finished)

White Wins : 151 (37.6 %)
Black Wins : 109 (27.1 %)
Draws : 142 (35.3 %)
Unfinished : 0

White Perf. : 55.2 %
Black Perf. : 44.8 %

ECO A = 67 Games (16.7 %)
ECO B = 106 Games (26.4 %)
ECO C = 73 Games (18.2 %)
ECO D = 100 Games (24.9 %)
ECO E = 56 Games (13.9 %)

have a nice day :-)
