No, I haven't seen any final standings; just the standings after all games played on the official day of the tournament. I suppose this was also e-mailed to you. When I properly ordered the participants, (and assumed the game 1/128 Rigan - Lima would be declared 1-0), the cross table looks like this:

This would make Nebiyu 3rd by Sonnenborn-Berger points (sum of defeated opponent scores), as Buchholz (Sum of opponent scores) is equal, since Lima and Next55 (the only opponents they don't have in common) both have 2 points.

But it would be strange if they didn't complete the round robin (after announcing us by e-mail they would do that). They did not ask me anything, and if you got a prize, I would think I should get one too! :lol: (But indeed, this is a high-prestige tournament, with also a Human division, and the de-facto mini-Shogi World Championship in absence of an official one, and they did announce the first 3 would get a medal.)

Shokidoki could not repeat its success against 1/128 Rigan it had in the Olympiad. As a result 1/128 Rigan won the tourney with a perfect score. And Nebiyu caught up with Shokidoki as runner-up. Due to the fact it won their mutual game, the SB tie breaker awards it second place.

Note a package with all the participating WB engines (Nebiyu, Shokidoki, TJshogi5x5 and Lima), as well as several other WB engines (Deep Nikita, GNU minishogi, Petit Shogi) with a WinBoard pre-configured for mini-Shogi is available at http://hgm.nubati.net/miniShogi.html .

Is it after fixing issues that Takeshi reported?

Congratz to the winners, it is now a full round-robin probably because of Lima and winboard result interpretation :). Looking forward for next year's tour.

I just uploaded a corrected package. Turned out I had inadvertantly switched off the promotion popup (-sweepPromotions true) in the winboard.ini file I supplied with all these packages. And of course I had not instructed them how to defer promotion in this mode, so that all moves promoted automatically.

Fortunately the only time a deferral occurred was in the game 1/128 Rigan - TJshogi, where TJshogi forfeited because of this in a position from which it would otherwise have been checkmated in 5 moves. So it didn't really affect the tournament.

As for the 'resign' problem, WinBoard users should be used to engines resigning out-of-turn. I guess it was a combination of problems that fooled the Japanese operators: When Lima prints "Black Resigns", the Japanese would understand this as "White resigns". This, in combination with the message indeed occurring during Sente's turn, has probably confused them.

This would have happened to Nebiyu too, but for some reason I set the resign value to 10000 so that prevented it from happening.

@Ferd, you now have to wait a year to dethrone us. Better luck next time, you almost made it through with the now infamous white/sente resigned loophole ;)

Nice to see another minishogi tournament. Thanks H.G. for doing the WinBoard packaging.
I didn't improve TJshogi5x5 this year. Next year I probably will spend some time on it.
