I agree as a chess player, and a chess engine tester. If program A, is so much better then program B. Then it should be able to show us with a few opening moves from theory for variety. Chess is very deep.

This is the same logic as GM's saying chess is dead. Because other GM players can use opening prep to force all games to be draws. And yet, I have not seen any GM to be able to show this by playing a top chess engine. Instead, they get their butts handed to them by the chess engine. So much for their theory that chess is dead. And showing that the better chess player still wins.

I would not know where to play 'no castle' chess...really have no interested in it, but I would not mind. Nor would I mind some 960; but I tried earlier on chess.com during the 960 tourney and could not get any takers.

Those 'Magnus Tour' tournaments were all quite good to watch. I preferred the last one best - the 'sets' where you had to win the most seemed to provide the best entertainment value. That it has to be decided by an 'Armageddon' game was disappointing though. In a 'virtual world' where time is not really an issue, it seems like they could have just continued until someone broke the tie. Anyway, I am looking forward to more of those.
