Supposedly a very interesting win for Revenge against Ethereal.

The fight for 3rd place is about the only thing that is a bit dramatic here. Now there will be a few less standard moves where I'd rather bet on Ethereal, but then I expect an onslaught of Revenge.

Dragon defeated for the first time by a weaker engine. But maybe it's a bit strange, because the first game fell and from what I saw it looked more like a draw. It was cancelled, another one was played, and that one got turned off fairly early. I don't know what was going on, when I tried to delete the remaining moves at the write-up, it forced the black pawn on e2. (?)

This opening turned out really badly for Ethereal. Pawn attacks are giving him trouble, it seems. Little depth of calculation. Change to 3rd position.

Things are starting to look bad for Ethereal. And we're already moving on to the normal openings. Only there's still the later colorless e3, which Stockfish for some reason rated marginally better than English

Ethereal's win against Revenge gave them a chance to fight for 3rd place. But that leaves the last four openings, he hasn't won against Stockfish yet and he's losing too much, he's only beaten Dragon once, he'd have to beat Revenge at least three more times, more likely four.

The order is probably already clear. Ethereal loses to Stockfish much more often than Revenge. He won't catch up to that loss.

Interesting. I wouldn't have expected so many wins here. You can see the competition still has some catching up to do.

Next 1.Nf3 Probably similar variations will arise and therefore there might be enough wins, like after 1.d4.

As expected, it was played similarly as before after 1.d4.

And finally the long-awaited finale, 1.e4.
