I do not know the current strength, but even with the additional 100 pts there are still free engines out there stronger.
The exchange rate is too high at this time for those without a lot of disposable income.
I did order Smarthink 1.0 from Lokasoft when it came out so at least I have the original. I miss the exchange rates of those days Wonder if Ktulu will be next

however:the upgrade is just 10 euros
The download upgrade- without VAT -is 27 euros.
And.... an info :SmarThink 1.10 comes without a 64 bit engine .

Silvian
It's kind of weird that a known bitboard engine doesnt come with a 64bit build. It's probably to lead to speculations that a 64bit build could indeed put it in the top 10..may be. It is kind of weird that I still havent received my email or a download link.

I will just wait, I am in no hurry to get the engine..My bank account still shows the transaction as pending though..May be it has to do something with the fact that I ordered on the weekend..

I think you get alot more for your money these days and for what you get costs less as well. This was my point.
Those adverts are from 1995. The exchange rate is not a real excuse. Here the pound is linked to the dollar so its the same for us.
The real problem in the past for me has always been getting sold something that does not work correctly. This I really cannot abide.
I can understand the feeling that a download is somewhat sterile compared with a glossy handbook or manual + a cd, but if you think about it, you will soon see that downloadable software is a direct method of obtaining a product quickly. Go back to the bad old days and remember how many times something took 28 days to arrive or worse got lost in the post.
