Yes i would say you are very luckly Tony.

Had a friend that had a dell last year. He sent it back for repair
4 times in one year. Never did get it fixed. Hope you have better
luck with yours.
I am not sure why your friend had to send the computer to dell. Based on my limited warranty, if they cant fix it over the net, then they send a technician to your house and replace any parts that may have gone bad. I wonder how fast the Dell Poweredge server in my office is. Too bad, I am not allowed to install, modify or do anything with the lame Unix system.
Yes, they do that on the Business side, but not on the Consumer side. As I said night and day difference in the level of customer service.

Hi Charles,

Little info/changes to be updated in participants list: in GUI used, Slowchess will be using Winboard and its own opening book.

For some reason, I thought the tournament was going to be held on 27th and 28th. Hence the reason I called them, I have never gotten an upgrade to next day delivery without having to pay extra. So far I am satisfied with their customer service. We shall see how everything goes once I get the product. Then again, I pain with my visa, in case I am not satisfied, I can just give them a call, and they will reverse the payment.. if they think that I am telling the truth:wink:

It would sort of hurt me to let someone else operate Romi after I have ran around 15000 test games just for past versions of Romi.
I operated Romi last year iirc , and result was not bad at all :-)
Yes, I remember that, that was way before I ever operated Romi on ICC. I am not sure if it has anything to do with the hardware advantage. Romi was not able to score any wins against your deltomatex account last time I played it. We shall meet again.
Yes, hardware could be an issue, also Dirty is now playing at this account instead of EveAnn, maybe it is a harder opponent for Romichess
The hardware that you are using is about 6 times faster than my measly celeron that runs at half the speed most of the time due to over heating issues.
Ok, let's see what happen with equal hardware as Dirty joined today :-)
Saludos, Andres

I will try to run some games against your deltomatex account, if I see you online after the 21st.

Hi Tony,
Hi Andres,

Just got back home and found this partial match result! :) And the second half of the match is Romi's stronger half!! :D I just hope the pattern holds this time and Romi does 44/45%.

Just one question Tony. Does Glaurung 1.21 loose any elo at 1+1 time controll? And if so, how much?

RomiChess96b - Glaurung-32bit : 22.5/53 18-26-9 (110=01110==010=10000=01001=1100000010001=0101=1=00110) 42% -56

:x Grrrrrrrrr, when am I going to learn that whenever I open my mouth, Romi sticks her shoe in it. :lol:

(first is for comparison with last test)
RomiChess96a - Glaurung-32bit : 39.0/100 27-49-24 (1=0=11010=00=001=010000001001=000=0100=0=100101=011000=010=0110====00=000=00011011=11=0==010=11=1000) 39% -78

As far as I can recall, Glaurung 1.2.1 doesnt have any problems in that time control. May be learning is a factor, you should turn that off.

Code: Select all

  59 Glaurung 1.2.1                    2880   50   51   143   45%  2915   24%
  60 SlowChess Blitz WV 2.1            2879   34   34   314   43%  2930   25%
  61 Pharaon 3.5.1                     2878   34   34   316   43%  2930   25%
  62 GarboChess 2.10                   2877  165  142    21   71%  2684   10%
  63 Ruffian 1.0.5                     2877   35   36   308   43%  2929   19%
40% against Glaurung is rather formidable provided that there was no learning, repeated games involved. Previous Romi's barely got 45-50% against Francesca MAD..Is this a version of Romi that can use more than 1 CPU? I will get my computer on Monday, so I guess you can start Churning out new betas. I should be able to get results in 1/2 the time once I get everything set up. I wish to score more than 50% in this tournament and a win against Rybka. :wink:

I now do all RomiChess testing with learning dissabled since before P3k was released. So 39.5/100 is ligit! :)

I hope to get that 45% before the ACCA tournament! Fingers crossed!!

Edit: Oh sorry, no SMP support yet. And not enough time before the tourney. So, unless Tord comes to the rescue ...
