I suppose you will just have to wait than until this version is released, so you can see for yourself. Unlike some people here I don't need 500-1000 games to see if Robbo is giving Rybka run for its money... 50 games is enough for me, to make me convinced that this version is at least 50 elo stronger than the others released before it.... maybe more

Any news on MP, MV support? When can we expect to use Robbolito in our multi processors unleash its full strength?

Please learn a bit of statistics:
on 50 games (assuming about 50% draws), standard deviation error is 2.5, or 5%
so a 55-45 outcome for Rybka could occur here anytime! :o
You are missing the big picture. Rybka is using 4 cores and robbo* is using 1 core.
No

He is missing nothing.
It is not rybka's fault that robbo does not know to use 4 cores.

It is also known that rybka on 1 core is weaker than robbo on 1 core at least in blitz so I am not impressed by the results and it is even not clear to me that the new robbo is better than the old robbo.

Uri
lol, maybe he is using a weakened pirated fake no good purposely mis-labeled version of Rybka.
What do you think, Franklin, what Uri will tell us when Robbo learn to use 4 4 cores?

So you are a co-author?
Or a tester?

Robbo* MP is already available but not public.

There are so many excuses I can think of, but a few:

"How come you let Robbo* and Rybka play using the same hardware, we all know robbo is stronger on the same hardware so the test is not valid."

"Why not run robbo* 32 bit against rybka 64 bit to make it a fair test."

"Why not let Rybka ponder and Robbo* not to make the test fair."

My testing indicates that Robbo on one core is not as strong as Rybka on 4 cores so if the new one is equal to Rybka on 4 cores then it is stronger than previous versions.

I wish that you were right about this, because, RomiChess would be the engine that everyone would be talking about! I can not count the number of times that Romi totally dominated the first 50 to 75 games of a 100 game match only to fall flat on her face in the remainder of the games. Once Romi was smashing the old record to pieces only to get 3 points of the last 25 and got a bad total result. I think Bob would tell you that you need 2,500 games to prove a 50 elo improvement. And he ran millions of games on his cluster to prove it. But, in the end, those of us that do not have the testing resources do have to rely on our intuition. When I was making regular new official releases, they were mostly better than the last release. Now I consider that mostly good luck!
