Not a "guaranteed win" but an "exciting for spectators" and "exhausting for the players" format.
* it's a simul format: all the players playing all the other players at the same time
* tables are formed in a circle of circles: one circle for each player playing black (so if there are 10 players, there would be 5 circles, each of which would have 5 boards, each of which would have the black pieces nearer the centre of the circle, and the white pieces on the outside of the circle)
* the black player is stationary: this somewhat equalises the advantage of being white
* after playing a move, the black player has 30 seconds to play another move on another board (if there's a board available on which an opponent has moved)
* the white players are mobile: they move from circle to circle
* on stepping into a circle, they then have 30 seconds to move a white piece on their board in the circle
* probably use colour coding to help the white players find the right board
* the white players would have a 30 second time limit for moving from one circle to the next after playing a move
* this game would reward the ability to clear your head and refocus on the new position in front of you
* if there were 10 contestants, the spectators would get to see 25 games at once!
* it could be a 1 day event: 25 games in the morning, white and black players swap, then they have another 25 games in the afternoon

Human chess is partly about tactics and strategy, but mostly about memory

Well, then I don't think the current discussion thread qualifies. Creating a single thread and discussing with others is not 'spamming', and inquiring how much something would be worth is not calling for anything.chrisw wrote: ↑Mon Jul 28, 2025 7:31 pmWell, I wrote that clause back whenever. Its purpose was not to prevent announcements of commercial stuff, but to prevent continuous repeats of announcements. Whether the announcements were to sell to forum members or to entice the occasional reader (not necessarily a member) was not specified.
Flagrant = repeated or swamping or spamming
Commercial = money involved somewhere/somehow
Exhortation = strongly recommending/calling for
The product could be anything.
