Why? Because you are their main proponent here, yet you continue to debase yourself while acting as their apologist. It's not a good look, for you or them.dkappe wrote: ↑Mon Aug 30, 2021 2:30 amI said that he reminded me of a girl that would send dictionary definitions instead of mounting an argument. As for ChessBase, why would anything I say make them look better or worse, and why should I care?

Oh boy. You haven’t read or understood anything I’ve said about FF1 and FF2, have you? I have been entirely consistent in saying that they (FF1 and FF2 in its remedied form) comply with the GPLv3. That’s it.
Personally, I think ChessBase should support the Stockfish and Leela projects in some way, but they are under no obligation to do so.

Oh, boy. I've been paying attention and you provided us with the entertainment of debating the definition of the word illegal. Weaseling is not a good look either. Try again.dkappe wrote: ↑Mon Aug 30, 2021 2:41 amOh boy. You haven’t read or understood anything I’ve said about FF1 and FF2, have you? Fine. I’ll stipulate that I was incorrect in pointing out the misuse of the word “illegal” in this context. Better?
That doesn’t change anything about the fundamental point:

I can't disagree but I'm not sure how or if FF2 is a component of the lawsuit. Unless you have more info, I'm left to speculate.

Seriously? Have you bothered to read anything? Check the original post in this thread and the Stockfish blog post(s) it points to. On the ignore list you go.gaard wrote: ↑Mon Aug 30, 2021 3:05 amI can't disagree but I'm not sure how or if FF2 is a component of the lawsuit. Unless you have more info, I'm left to speculate.

I'm not too bright, but with the help of my friends I am able to comply with the very small set of requirements attached to the GPLv3dkappe wrote: ↑Mon Aug 30, 2021 2:30 amI said that he reminded me of a girl that would send dictionary definitions instead of mounting an argument. If you mean to imply that corrected violation precludes repeated violations then you are still, unfortunately, wrong.dkappe wrote: ↑Mon Aug 30, 2021 3:24 amSeriously? Come on guys, it’s not that complicated. You say that FF2 is an ongoing GPLv3 violation. I say it isn’t. We’ll know sooner or later what the courts say.
