More entries in the open event than in the WCCC...

One of the entries is from the author of Lion...
What is the difference between WCCC and Olympiad?

only hardware limit?

A person can play in the 2 tournaments? Not match in the same time?

Less than 10 participants, and no Naum. Even Harm's ad-hoc server attracts more players than WCCC.

I hope DSJ makes a repeat of last year, and prevent another walkover by Rybka.
Exactly, Lance. This tournament doesn't (and never had a) feel like "WCCC".

The tournament will get little interesting with more addition: Hiarcs, Junior and some more spanish engines.

Surely there are many spanish computer chess people, some of them may be able to volunteer to be an operator for some program?

Is anybody up there in spain willing to operate for Crafty? I feel it deserves to be in there. Or perhaps Bob has avoided this event? I don't think so.
Most people not know that there is a world championship chess programs. Very few people know of other engines that Rybka or Fritz.

To locate in Pamplona a person to operate your program is complicated. It is difficult to be free for a week and play two games in a day for up to 5 hours.

I have offered my engine if anyone wants to play, I posted on a forum for chess, but I have not had any offers.

If that was interested the chess federation of Navarra for that I play in the tournament.

I live about 90 km from Pamplona.

The Baron is (incorrectly) listed in the open tournament.
The reason why I registered it for the WCCC (instead of the open tournament) is that the playing schedule for the open tournament has not been determined yet. I will not register for a tournament where this basic element of travel planning etc is not known at time of registration. For all I know it could be a 1-2 day rapid tournament. That is not why I'm taking off two weeks from work to participate in a tournament.
If the open tournament has a similar playing schedule as the WCCC, I will prefer the open tournament though, as I don't like the hardware limit.
Now let's hope there will be sufficient participants to make these tournaments interesting ...

Not all of us are lucky enough to be able to program an engine, so it's a great way for Chessmaster nerds to have some fun.
Somehow "luck" is not an adjective I think of when thinking about computer chess programming. :)

OK, I changed your registration. This means that there is a good chance that Jonny and Pandix may also be registered in the wrong tournament. I did not receive those 3 registrations directly.

Remi,

Do you have any details about the open tournament? Will it be possible for 1 operator to be able to play in both tournaments?

Thanks,
Harvey

I sure hope it will be possible for 1 operator to play both in the WCCC and the Chinese-Chess tournament! :?
